Gamtoos means “The Roaring Lion” and refers to the sound of the Gamtoos River in flood. Our distillery is located on the banks of the Gamtoos River, near the small town of Patensie in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

We handcraft our gin from the finest malted barley to create a smooth base and then infuse it with the finest export quality citrus from the area. We also use other classic botanicals like juniper, coriander, angelica root, grains of paradise and cassia bark. In every lot, we use a different special botanical for our final vapour infusion and the name will appear in the box below.
